These high quality Italian crafted steering dampers will not only add stability & safety to your bike but will add a touch of style with their great looks too!! Matris Steering Dampers feature high grade titanium outer bodies, stainless steel shafts and CNC'ed aluminum hardware. They are adjustable for damping using a large wheel on the main body of the damper.

The dampers are speed sensitive, which means you do not have to have them wound up to the max for them to work. They react to sudden movements by automatically increasing their damping, but remain easy to move at low speeds (which can save an embarassing scene while turning round in the pub car park!).

The mounting position varies depending on bike. Many of the '916 style' fitting kits are supplied with a new CNC top nut! Fitting kits (where applicable) are anodised black aluminium. We stock Matris steering dampers in two different specs:

TYPE 3 (M3) - Titanium body, light alloy external reservoir for compensation of fluid expansion, coaxial adjuster (16 settings) on damper body, One Piece
piston rod. SPEED SENSITIVE DAMPING.
M3 DAMPERS are available with a BLACK or RED ANODISED RESERVOIR & DAMPER BODY CLAMP. (please note as of June '07 Blue dampers have been discontinued - so we have limited stocks)

TYPE 4R (M4R) - These dampers feature a titanium body, light alloy external reservoir for compensation of fluid expansion (on this model the reservoir is gas pressurised!!), coaxial adjuster (18 settings) on damper body, Ti-nitrided one piece piston rod. SPEED SENSITIVE DAMPING.
M4R DAMPERS HAVE BLACK ANODISED ALLOY PARTS WITH A RED ANODISED ADJUSTING WHEEL.

NOTE: On some of the 916 style kits you are required to drill 2 small holes in the top yoke - if you would like to check if this is required on your model - please give us a call.
